good kate, bad kate.
I’m always torn on W. Sometimes I find it lacking and seems more art/culture than fashion. And then there are those time where the photography is so surreal that I can’t put it down. Case in point, March 2012. With none other than Kate, shot by Steven Klein.
Hauntingly good.

With every collection, I’m convinced that Kimberly Ovitz has invaded my mind and closet.
She gets me.

Camera vs. Camera Phone. Exhibit A: The stunning details of Costello’s collection as seen through Style.com’s lenses. Note the EPIC hooded cape and “I-need-them-now” graphic leggings. Notice also, the amazingly draped dress that had the most phenomenal open back. It looked so incredibly soft—the perfect blend of comfort meets sexy.
Exhibit B: My shitty camera...

Tom Ford.
4:30 A.M. I never really sleep much and often start my day at this time. When I am very lucky and sleep through the night, I might get up at 7:00, but that is rare. The first thing I do when I get out of bed is weigh myself. I do this every morning, and if I have gained more than two or three pounds, I try to eat fruit and vegetables exclusively for a couple of days until my weight is...

Fashion Week: Lilium.
So last night marked the beginning of another season…another fashion season that is!
Set in the underground layer of the W Hotel Union Square, Lilium was a sea of vintage fur and fashion’s fiercest faces. The night honored the ever-stylish Jenne Lombardo, W Hotels Global Fashion Director (clearly worthy of the title in a perfect combo of leather meets grey fur!) Also honored was a...

This pretty much sums up what I want to do this weekend.
All I need now is desert, warm weather, and a mustang.

Anti-Oxidant.
Gotta give major props to my good friend Christina Medina. She, along with Jason LeBlond, curated the amazing video art show, Anti-Oxidant Promantic. The artists, not to mention the space itself, is totally worth checking out. Show runs til Feb 5th. Click here for more details.

colorblocking.
I love this look and it seems like we will only be seeing more of the dip-dyed look this Spring. Problem is I have dark hair. I hear that temporary hair chalk works but worried it won’t really show up…
I may just have to get experimental this weekend.

Valentino Couture.
“If you don’t think about fashion, you just do clothes. Fashion needs culture or it becomes empty.” Pier Paolo Piccioli
One of their finest collections yet. Breathtaking…stunning lace details! I would love to see the top gown at the Academy Awards.

Isabelle Merant.
Yes, I know I spelled it wrong. And for good reason.
Because despite my love affair for the infamous Isabel Marant sneaker wedge, alas I cannot come to terms with spending a month’s rent on a pair.
I’ve come across a few good replicas but these are rad and not a total copycat.
So until I can afford the real deal, I’ll enjoy skipping the new york streets in my new...

Beards dominated the Men’s runways for Fall 12.
Hipsters everywhere are now shaving theirs off in rebellion.
From top: Alessandrini, Hermes, Trussardi.

Swooooon!
Mr.Cardigan
While I think the focus is supposed to be on the amazing coat/sleeve detail of the gentleman on the right, my focus is on Mr. Cardigan on the left. This had the potential to be disastrously bulky considering he’s wearing 3 layers, but the fit of each layer is done so perfectly. Muted colors and each collar coordinating with the next. And the cardigan…adds just the right finish!
